If you are in Sudan - visit it. Simple as. To those who complain about its size or organisation, please consider that when compared with many other countries in the region Sudan is actually doing a great job of presenting its history. Complaining about it isn't going to transform it overnight.
The upstairs area contains rescued frescos from christian sites destoryed by the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s and has been aided by the Poles. It is a very nice exhibit and well worth a trip in itself.
The outside areas also contain a number of COMPLETE temples resuced before the flooding of Lower Nubia. Those working at the museum have to cope with almost no funding from their awful government, but are working extremely hard to present Sudan's history to the government in spite of this total lack of support.
